"Nick has a way of teasing the most beautiful and interesting ideas out of the people he works with. I loved working with him."
"Nick's professionalism, warm demeanor, and top tier design skills keeps him top of mind for critical projects."
I grew up and went to art school in Los Angeles. I went on to work in entertainment and large brand advertising.
But then I moved to Cambridge, MA with my wife, and have applied some of that theater towards early stage science and engineering startups.

Gladius Therapeutics

Brand + Web + Deck
Comments
Gladius has developed a therapeutic that specifically targets the mitochondria of cancer cells. The logo reflects the G as a shield, suggests a T as the cap, and is a very pointy arrow that enforces the targeted nature of the drug.

Comments
POW.BIO is a biomanufacturing company. Fermentation is used to create not only food, but medicine, fuels, proteins, and enzymes.
The typical method involves putting things in a tank, waiting, and emptying. But POW has cracked the code on making it a continuous process, and this allows for much greater yield from the same footprint.

The Museum of Civil Rights is raising funds to build a museum in the heart of New York City. The museum will focus on the progress we've made, focusing on the Northeast US, and the work that is left to do.

Comments
While I was working at Heavenspot in Los Angeles the production designer for the video shoot came to my boss and asked us to do some graphics for the shoot (the car and the court graphics). I was barely above intern level at the time, and had a bit of fun working on this.

Comments
Eco set out to build a teleconferencing screen that was always on as a way of interconnecting remote screens in a way as seamless as a window in a wall. I was reponsible for figuring out the interaction models and did the pitch video.
While presenting to investors, there was subtle talk that it was a good idea, but someone else is going to do it. Facebook came out with a product named "Portal" later that year.

Future Fields is a protein company. Originally started as a company to grow meat, they had trouble sourcing the growth proteins required to feed the cells. In an attempt to solve their own problem, they pivoted to being a protein manufacturing company.

I taught a dozen workshops at the Harvard Graduate School of Design aimed at architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning students. The topics were: typography, layout, composition, image compositing, and portfolio design.
Along the way I designed a half dozen posters for various speaker events over the course of four years.
